$53.17

I can't believe that my 15 year old daughter made that much money in five hours. If she was also paid the base pay of $8.00 an hour, she would have made $96.17!!

Based on this past week, she has the opportunity to make over $600 a month! Talk about buying a nice car one day! I think I need to get a second job there working on the weekends. I told her this and she said, "No Mom...you'll make more tips than me and I want to make the most tips."

I'm still thinking about it...

UPDATE: She found out tonight that the owner of the restaurant is coming back from vacation next week. Come to find out, she won't make the $8.00 an hour until he sees how she works and he makes them decision to hire her. She is highly nervous about this because they said she won't know when he will show up. Frankly I am shocked because I thought she got the job. Once again, we shall see.

Congratulations to your daughter on her first job :) When I was around the age of 14 I worked at the local corner store for a few weeks while the girl who normally worked there took a month off. I got $20 each Saturday and it felt like I was a millionaire!

Think of all that time as valuable practice in building her confidence so that the owner will make her hire more permanent. And if it doesn't work out, then the owner has a lesson to learn in hiring the right people!

I am happy for both you and your daughter. That first job is so exciting, isn't it?

I hope she does well!

at least, the experience was gradual though. she didn't get hit by all those hiring experiences all at once.

take care!
